聆聽演講的學生回饋:『I can deeply relate to this topic. Last year, in our elective course, our group focused on the SDG issue of reducing food waste. We learned about the sources of food waste and how to start reducing food waste ourselves. From this lecture, I gained a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by Indigenous communities, such as land rights, environmental encroachment, lack of political representation, and cultural erosion. I also started thinking about how to make these issues fair. As a social worker, the things I can do to help them include respecting them, not exploiting them, understanding their culture in depth, and promoting their culture.』、『Environmental and human rights issues are of paramount importance in today’s world. From various speeches, I have observed that initiatives being promoted worldwide are also reflected in Taiwan’s indigenous compensation actions. Whether in the United States or in Taiwan, indigenous peoples are often the most vulnerable and their voices the easiest to overlook. Listening to the SDG sustainability and indigenous peoples lecture has made me reconsider this issue and understand more deeply the problems faced globally, whether it’s forest fires or indigenous rights. This has sparked my interest in further exploration, and now, when I encounter similar news online, I will pay more attention to global warming and indigenous rights.』。
