TCU\u2019s Department of Nursing held its Capping Ceremony, and this was its nineteenth year. The students were excited like sprouts in the spring, and are ready to work in the hospitals. The Capping Ceremony signifies that students are ready to learn to take responsibility as nursing professionals, and to also inherit the spirit of Florence Nightingale. On this day the Masters from Jing Si Abode, the CEO of Tzu Chi\u2019s Education Mission Ping-Kun Tsai, the CEO of Tzu Chi\u2019s Medical Mission Chin-Lon Lin, TCU president Pen-Jung Wang, the superintendent of the Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital Shinn-Zong Lin, the dean of the College of Medicine Henry Yang, members of Tzu Cheng\/Yi Te Association, and students\u2019 parents, a total of 500, attended this ceremony.<\/p>\n

\u6148\u6fdf\u5927\u5b78\u8b77\u7406\u7cfb\u4eca\u5929\u8209\u8fa6\u7b2c\u5341\u4e5d\u5c46\u52a0\u51a0\u66a8\u50b3\u5149\u5178\u79ae\uff0c\u53d7\u51a0\u751f\u4eae\u9e97\u7480\u74a8\u7684\u7b11\u5bb9\uff0c\u5c31\u50cf\u6625\u5929\u7684\u7da0\u82bd\u4e00\u6a23\uff0c\u4ee5\u5805\u5b9a\u7121\u6bd4\u7684\u4fe1\u5fc3\u8fce\u5411\u4e16\u754c\uff0c\u300c\u52a0\u51a0\u300d\u8c61\u5fb5\u627f\u64d4\u8b77\u7406\u8cac\u4efb\u7684\u958b\u59cb\uff0c\u300c\u50b3\u5149\u300d\u4ee3\u8868\u50b3\u627f\u5357\u4e01\u683c\u723e\u7684\u7cbe\u795e\uff0c\u4eca\u5929\u52a0\u51a0\u5178\u79ae\u5305\u62ec\u6709\u7cbe\u820d\u5e2b\u7236\uff0c\u6559\u80b2\u5fd7\u696d\u57f7\u884c\u9577\u8521\u70b3\u5764\uff0c\u91ab\u7642\u5fd7\u696d\u9ad4\u57f7\u884c\u9577\u6797\u4fca\u9f8d\uff0c\u6148\u5927\u738b\u672c\u69ae\u6821\u9577\uff0c\u6148\u6fdf\u91ab\u9662\u6797\u6b23\u69ae\u9662\u9577\uff0c\u6148\u5927\u91ab\u5b78\u9662\u694a\u4ec1\u5b8f\u9662\u9577\u7b49\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u6148\u61ff\u6703\u4ee5\u53ca\u5b78\u751f\u5bb6\u9577\u8fd1500\u4eba\u53c3\u52a0\u5178\u79ae\u3002<\/p>\n

These nursing sophomores have gained basic professional knowledge and skills at school, and are ready to go to hospitals in the summer to receive their clinical training. They have gotten used to being with their professors and peers at school, yet they are going to face suffering patients and anxious families in the hospitals. This year 61 students, 13 males and 48 females, attended the Capping Ceremony, and each one of them was capped by the Department Chairperson or other faculty members. Chairperson Tai-Chu Peng remined students that they will encounter joy and difficulties but, no matter what happens, they need to keep going, and learn to take care of their patients.<\/p>\n

\u8b77\u7406\u7cfb\u4e8c\u5e74\u7d1a\u52a0\u51a0\u751f\u7d93\u904e\u5169\u5e74\u7684\u5c08\u696d\u6280\u8853\u6dec\u934a\uff0c\u5373\u5c07\u65bc\u6691\u5047\u5230\u91ab\u9662\u81e8\u5e8a\u5be6\u7fd2\uff0c\u4ed6\u5011\u8981\u9762\u5c0d\u7684\u5c0d\u8c61\u4e0d\u518d\u662f\u5e2b\u9577\u3001\u540c\u5b78\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u6b63\u53d7\u5230\u75c5\u75db\u6298\u78e8\u7684\u75c5\u60a3\u548c\u7126\u6025\u7684\u5bb6\u5c6c\u3002\u4eca\u5e74\u53d7\u51a0\u751f\u4eba\u6578\u517161\u4f4d(\u7537\u751f13\u4f4d\uff0c\u5973\u751f48\u4f4d)\u3002\u7531\u4e3b\u4efb\u5f6d\u53f0\u73e0\u548c\u8b77\u7406\u7cfb\u5e2b\u9577\u4e00\u4e00\u70ba\u6bcf\u4f4d\u8b77\u751f\u52a0\u51a0\u3002\u770b\u5230\u9019\u7fa4\u8b77\u7406\u754c\u65b0\u82bd\u50b3\u627f\u5e2b\u9577\u5fd7\u696d\uff0c\u4e3b\u4efb\u5f6d\u53f0\u73e0\u52c9\u52f5\u540c\u5b78\uff0c\u6210\u70ba\u4e00\u500b\u8b77\u7406\u5e2b\u7684\u904e\u7a0b\u6703\u6709\u6b61\u559c\u4e5f\u6703\u6709\u632b\u6298\uff0c\u5e0c\u671b\u5927\u5bb6\u80fd\u5805\u6301\u4e0b\u53bb\uff0c\u5b78\u7fd2\u627f\u64d4\u7167\u9867\u75c5\u4eba\u7684\u8cac\u4efb\u3002<\/p>\n

The students raised their right hands and each vowed: \u201cWe shall bear the spirit of Great Love and gratitude, respect every life and look after each patient as family\u2026…We shall treat everyone with kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity, cultivate our enthusiasm, and spread the Spirit of Tzu Chi.\u201d This powerful and positive vow denoted the students\u2019 firm confidence and resolved intention.<\/p>\n

\u5168\u9ad4\u53d7\u51a0\u751f\u8209\u8d77\u53f3\u624b\uff0c\u5ba3\u8a93\u300c\u5fc3\u5b58\u5927\u611b\u80f8\u61f7\u611f\u6069\uff0c\u5c0a\u91cd\u751f\u547d\u8996\u75c5\u5982\u89aa\uff0c\u2026..\u529b\u884c\u6148\u60b2\u559c\u6368\uff0c\u767c\u63ee\u8b77\u7406\u5c08\u696d\u7684\u670d\u52d9\u71b1\u8aa0\uff0c\u5f18\u63da\u4eba\u50b7\u6211\u75db\u7684\u6148\u6fdf\u7cbe\u795e\u3002\u300d\u93d7\u93d8\u6709\u529b\u7be4\u5b9a\u7684\u8072\u97f3\uff0c\u8c61\u5fb5\u8457\u5b78\u751f\u5805\u5b9a\u7684\u4fe1\u5fc3\u548c\u4e0d\u8b8a\u7684\u521d\u5fc3\u3002<\/p>\n

Jing-Han Zhang was one of the students who led other students to say their vows. Her father was hospitalized before, due to cancer. Back then, she was only a middle school student, yet she chose to look after her father in the hospital during weekends, and after school on week days. She said that as a patient\u2019s family member she is aware of the tense relationship between family and medical professionals. If a nurse speaks too fast, the family would feel irritated; on the other hand, a kind word from a nurse will make the family feel relieved. She wishes to keep her vivid memory as a patient\u2019s family member, and always show warmth towards patients and their families.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u5ba3\u8a93\u4ee3\u8868\u4e4b\u4e00\u5f35\u6de8\u6db5\u540c\u5b78\uff0c\u570b\u4e2d\u6642\u7236\u89aa\u5c31\u56e0\u70ba\u7f79\u60a3\u764c\u75c7\u4f4f\u9662\uff0c\u5f35\u6de8\u6db5\u5728\u5047\u65e5\u6216\u4e0b\u8ab2\u5f8c\uff0c\u6703\u53bb\u75c5\u623f\u7167\u9867\u7236\u89aa\u3002\u5f35\u6de8\u6db5\u540c\u5b78\u8aaa\uff1a\u300c\u8eab\u70ba\u75c5\u60a3\u7684\u5bb6\u5c6c\uff0c\u6211\u975e\u5e38\u6e05\u695a\u5bb6\u5c6c\u548c\u91ab\u8b77\u4e4b\u9593\u7684\u7dca\u5f35\u95dc\u4fc2\uff0c\u8b77\u7406\u4eba\u54e1\u8aaa\u8a71\u5feb\u4e86\u9ede\uff0c\u5bb6\u5c6c\u5c31\u6703\u89ba\u5f97\u662f\u4e0d\u662f\u6253\u64fe\u5230\u4ed6\u5011\uff0c\u975e\u5e38\u6212\u614e\u3002\u4f46\u6709\u6642\u5019\u8b77\u7406\u4eba\u54e1\u5f88\u8cbc\u5fc3\u7684\u4e00\u53e5\u554f\u5019\uff0c\u6703\u8b93\u5bb6\u5c6c\u6574\u500b\u4eba\u90fd\u5f88\u653e\u5fc3\u3002\u6211\u5e0c\u671b\u81ea\u5df1\u4e0d\u8981\u5fd8\u8a18\u7576\u904e\u75c5\u4eba\u5bb6\u5c6c\u7684\u611f\u89ba\uff0c\u80fd\u5920\u7d66\u75c5\u4eba\u548c\u5bb6\u5c6c\u5011\u591a\u4e00\u9ede\u6eab\u6696\u3002\u300d<\/p>\n

As a patient\u2019s family member, Jing-Han realizes that a good nurse can make a big difference for the patient, and thus she chose to study nursing. Her father passed away when she was a college freshman, so on this day her mother came to attend her Capping Ceremony. Mrs. Chang was happy that Jing-Han had become very independent since her father became ill. She was also happy to see Jing-Han receive her cap, for she sensed Jing-Han\u2019s strong determination to help other people, and that would make Jing-Han\u2019s father very happy. After the Capping Ceremony, Jing-Han is now ready to work at a hospital. As a patient\u2019s family member, she understands patient\u2019s feelings, and thus wishes to convey kindness to patients, and also let their families feel the warmth.<\/p>\n

\u5f35\u6de8\u6db5\u540c\u5b78\u5f9e\u7236\u89aa\u7684\u751f\u75c5\u904e\u7a0b\u4e2d\uff0c\u611f\u53d7\u5230\u4e86\u8b77\u7406\u4eba\u54e1\u7684\u91cd\u8981\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64\u5979\u6c7a\u5b9a\u5ff5\u8b77\u7406\u7cfb\uff0c\u7236\u89aa\u5728\u4ed6\u5927\u4e00\u6642\u5f80\u751f\u3002\u4eca\u5929\u6bcd\u89aa\u674e\u96ef\u541b\u4e5f\u4f86\u53c3\u52a0\u4ed6\u7684\u52a0\u51a0\u5178\u79ae\uff0c\u674e\u5973\u58eb\u8868\u793a\uff0c\u5f9e\u6de8\u6db5\u7236\u89aa\u751f\u75c5\u4ee5\u4f86\uff0c\u6de8\u6db5\u5c31\u975e\u5e38\u7368\u7acb\uff0c\u4eca\u5929\u770b\u5230\u5979\u5728\u53f0\u4e0a\u52a0\u51a0\u5ba3\u8a93\uff0c\u611f\u53d7\u5230\u5979\u60f3\u8981\u5e6b\u52a9\u4eba\u7684\u6c7a\u5fc3\uff0c\u5982\u679c\u7236\u89aa\u5728\u73fe\u5834\u4e00\u5b9a\u6703\u975e\u5e38\u9ad8\u8208\u3002\u5f35\u6de8\u6db5\u6234\u4e0a\u8b77\u58eb\u5e3d\uff0c\u6b63\u4e00\u6b65\u6b65\u8d70\u5411\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u5922\u60f3\uff0c\u5979\u8868\u793a\uff0c\u81ea\u5df1\u662f\u764c\u75c7\u75c5\u60a3\u5bb6\u5c6c\uff0c\u975e\u5e38\u4e86\u89e3\u90a3\u7a2e\u5fc3\u60c5\uff0c\u671f\u8a31\u81ea\u5df1\u6210\u70ba\u53ef\u4ee5\u7d66\u75c5\u4eba\u591a\u4e00\u4e9b\u89aa\u5207\u8a71\u8a9e\uff0c\u8b93\u75c5\u4eba\u5bb6\u5c6c\u53ef\u4ee5\u611f\u53d7\u5230\u6eab\u6696\u7684\u8b77\u7406\u4eba\u54e1\u3002<\/p>\n

The studying of nursing, for male students, is becoming popular. Ji-Heng Li is a tall nursing student, and he is admired by many of his peers. During his high school period, he was happy organizing various camps to help younger children, and thus selected the nursing profession which enables him to help other people directly and to make him happy. The male nurse is physically stronger than the female nurse, yet many female patients might not be willing to expose their bodies to male nurses, and male nurses must be aware of this situation while taking care of female patients.<\/p>\n

\u7537\u751f\u5ff5\u8b77\u7406\u5df2\u7d93\u6108\u4f86\u6108\u88ab\u793e\u6703\u5927\u773e\u63a5\u53d7\uff0c\u9577\u5f97\u4eba\u9ad8\u99ac\u5927\u7684\u674e\u66a8\u8861\u540c\u5b78\u8868\u793a\uff0c\u5176\u5be6\u6709\u4eba\u807d\u5230\u81ea\u5df1\u662f\u5b78\u8b77\u7406\u7684\uff0c\u9084\u662f\u6703\u5e36\u8457\u4f69\u670d\u7684\u773c\u795e\uff0c\u9ad8\u4e2d\u6642\u4ed6\u5c31\u53c3\u52a0\u4e00\u4e9b\u5e36\u5c0f\u670b\u53cb\u7684\u71df\u968a\uff0c\u6df1\u523b\u611f\u53d7\u5230\u52a9\u4eba\u7684\u5feb\u6a02\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64\u6c7a\u5b9a\u5ef6\u7e8c\u90a3\u4efd\u71b1\u60c5\uff0c\u627e\u4e00\u500b\u6700\u76f4\u63a5\u5e6b\u52a9\u5225\u4eba\u7684\u8077\u696d\u3002\u4ed6\u8a8d\u70ba\u7537\u751f\u7576\u8b77\u7406\u4eba\u54e1\u7684\u597d\u8655\u662f\u529b\u6c23\u6bd4\u8f03\u5927\uff0c\u7576\u7136\u4e5f\u6709\u4e00\u4e9b\u7f3a\u9ede\uff0c\u4f8b\u5982\u8001\u5e2b\u6703\u63d0\u9192\u4ed6\u5011\uff0c\u6709\u4e9b\u5973\u6027\u53ef\u80fd\u5c31\u4e0d\u559c\u6b61\u66b4\u9732\u8eab\u9ad4\u5728\u7570\u6027\u9762\u524d\uff0c\u7537\u8b77\u7406\u4eba\u54e1\u5fc5\u9808\u53bb\u9ad4\u8ad2\u9019\u9ede\u3002<\/p>\n

The passing rate for taking the National Nurse Licensing Exam is over 90% every year for TCU\u2019s nursing students, which is one of the best in Taiwan. TCU\u2019s nursing graduates are highly regarded by hospitals in Taiwan and overseas for their professionalism and humaneness. Thailand\u2019s Mahidol University provides full scholarships every year for Thai students to study nursing at TCU, and right after completing their undergraduate study, these students are required to return to Thailand and work at Thai hospitals. Dounghathai Saetoung and Samita Phattharawongjaroen are studying nursing at TCU after receiving Mahidol University scholarships, and both of them graduated from Chiangmai Tzu Chi School. During her high school years, Dounghathai Saetoung encountered many people suffering from illnesses, and thus she chose to study nursing, so that she will be able to help those in need. She is happy to have also received her primary education at Chiangmai Tzu Chi School, and feels appreciative to have received a scholarship to study nursing in Taiwan and fulfill her dream<\/p>\n
